Thank you for your interest in volunteering with UF/IFAS Extension Sarasota County. We offer diverse volunteer opportunites and training across a number of service programs. If you are interested in volunteering with us, please call 941-861-5000 or email sarasota@ifas.ufl.edu.

Volunteer Training and Service Programs

  • 4-H Youth Development: provides educational experiences through a "learn by doing" approach and helps youth acquire knowledge, develop life skills, and form attitudes to enable them to become self-directed, productive, and contributing members of society
  • Florida Master Naturalist Program (FMNP): adult education effort that prepares participants for informed engagement in community projects that foster principles of sustainability, connectivity, and biodiversity
  • Florida Waters Stewardship Program (FWSP): educates and trains adults on the water connections in our community, and ways to protect and preserve resources
  • Master Gardener Volunteer Program (MGV): trains and supports volunteer educators to provide information about planning and maintaining urban, suburban and rural landscapes with an emphasis on environmental stewardship
